I COULD USE THE OCEAN

North Carolina Coast 2009.
All this packing and moving from one mountain to the other, really has me longing for the coast. I don't think we are going to be able to make it to the beach this summer, for the second time in a row (We were in Nepal for the entirety of last summer). While we did ride our bicycles to the coast this past spring, it was way too cold to swim and there wasn't very much sun to soak up at that time.
Our friends just returned from a marvelous week at the beach, and we were bummed to skip out on it, but duty calls. The last time I went to the coast with friends was a very long 2 years ago. I spent the week in the sand feeding seagulls, flying kites, and running free. The photos above are my favorite shots from that trip.
